JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a piano teacher to join our team. NorCal Music & Arts Center (NCMAC) is an inclusive and welcoming music school that are open to accepting students of all levels and all ages. We have three recitals every year in our very own recital hall. We have lots of fun activities during the year that include performance opportunities for teachers/students, booth in Sunnyvale Arts and Wine Festival with games, prizes and free trial classes. We pride ourselves in our ability to share our love of music while keeping it fun and inspiring to all our students. We offer private lessons as well as group classes. We are looking for violin teachers who are warm, fun-loving and energetic to join our team. We have 13 teaching rooms including a recital hall with a raised stage.

Our administrative team provide support for all enrollment, scheduling, makeup lessons and lesson registration.

We give opportunities to college students currently in music school to start their working experience with us. We provide paid training opportunities for teachers who are new in teaching. We are a supportive environment and welcome teachers of all different teaching styles.

Pay is based on experience and education

Pay for private lessons is $25-$55 (based on teaching experience and education)

Pay for group lessons is $50-$75 (depending on the group size)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in music preferred but we are willing to work with college students in the process of obtaining a music degree
  • Legal status to work in the United States
  • Must have at least one year of teaching experience
  • We are willing to train current college students in the process of obtaining a music degree
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work with parents and students to reach their goals
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to different student’s needs

HOURS

  • Flexible hours based upon the availability of the teacher

WORKPLACE

  • Our staff handles all administrative work
  • Large teaching rooms with observation windows
  • Recital/Performance opportunities for your students 2 to 3 times a year in our own recital hall
  • Fully-stocked teacher lounge for breaks

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Creating a lesson plan tailored to each student
  • Communicating to parents/students their assignments and progress
  • Be available for training workshops/continuing education for teaching purposes

COMPENSATION

  • Compensation is dependent on teaching experience, education and qualification.
  • We hire teachers (W2 employees)

Pay: $25.00 - $55.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday (3:30 PM to 8:30 PM)
  • Saturday preferred (9 AM to 3:30 PM)
  • Sunday (9 AM to 12:30 PM)
